Description

Abstract:

This dataset is a graphic representation of the January 1, 2018 Laramie County Assessment files.

Scale limitations of original source data make viewing of data consistent at a scale of 1:24000

for rural areas and 1:4800 for platted areas. Records from the assessment database on the RealWare

CAMA system are downloaded each year and joined with the GIS polygon dataset to create this dataset

(theme/shapefile). Information for real property that has more than one assessment owner

(ie...condominiums) is not represented in this dataset. Special "statepidn" coding for parcels

is defined in the Entity attribute section of this metadata.

Purpose:

The intention of this dataset is to represent the Laramie County local assessment information

in a graphical database for general purposes query and display. It in no way represents actual

field measurements of assessed property.

DATA_QUALITY_INFORMATION

 

Attribute_Accuracy

Attribute_Accuracy_Report:

Attribute accuracy is tested by manual comparison of assessment maps for Laramie County and property 
transactions on an annual basis. The information contained in this file is 80% accuracy rating for 
positional display of graphical information. Every effort is made to verify database accuracy in 
relation to graphical display. This database information is collected on an annual basis through a 
download of specified information relating to the annual assessment roll for Laramie County.

 

Logical_Consistency_Report:

Tests for logical consistency are performed using vendor software. Polygon topology for this 
dataset is verified prior to distribution, and continuously throughout the maintenance process. 
In the initial development of this polygon theme, sliver polygons resulted from intersecting 
existing plat, PLSS and transportation data for Laramie County. Attempts have been made to 
address these "sliver" polygons, and identify their status. They do exist as of publication 
date. Information displays at 1:4800 for city areas and 1:24000 for all rural areas.

 

Completeness_Report:

This information represents only assessed real property for Laramie County. Areas that have

multiple owners on one parcel are NOT represented in this dataset. An example of this would

be Condominium ownership, where there is a single property but multiple ownership and interest

in the building and commons area.
