Purpose:

The purpose of this dataset is to show where all public right of ways have been vacated from public use. It is used for quick referencing in conjunction with 
the subdivision plats.  It is used to verify where platted right of ways exist yet with no physical road built.

Process description:

The City of Cheyenne Engineer's Office will receive a filed copy of the resolution or ordinance and
in most cases a map showing the right-of-way vacation.  At that time the engineering staff will
digitize the area of vacation in to the dataset.  This is a polygon feature of only the vacated
portions.  This usually consists of alleys and/or streets.  A label is added and attributes for
resolution or ordinance number, year of vacation, whether a map was provided, and path to scanned 
image.
